CA FINAL EXAM FORM

These were the words my mind kept echoing inside, follows with the unwavering thump sounds of my heartbeat as I was trying to fill the form of my CA Final Exam. It is not just a reputed professional career but also a big dream for those who want to do nothing more than to make their parents proud of them. I was no different than that, but there are some moments when I actually question my life decisions like this one. I still remember the day I decided to pursue my career as a CA, and more than that, the most peaceful sight was seeing the biggest smile on my father's face. That was the day I knew that I would make that smile permanent no matter what!

Filling out the form and taking the final exam are the most critical steps in the process. Not just your whole future depends on it, but the past 3 years of hard work of every single second, the dedication and the knowledge I had to learn also depend on it. The form is to be registered under the ICAI along with all the necessary documents required for the registration process. All the documents MUST be verified and properly checked not even twice but THRICE (safety measures?!), or else you will have trouble entering for the exam. The exam is divided into two exams, and both of the exams need to be cleared by the candidate.

These past years preparing for my CA exam were hell, not going to lie! I actually lost track of time. I mean, I didn't remember if I've slept more than three peaceful nights in the past 3 years without any academic stress. Those endless nights of preparation, that stress, 7-8 hours of study and overwhelming feeling were everything it takes for a person to cry out loud, and I did too! But one thing that remained with me with all those nights was my dream. The dream of becoming CA!

I sat in front of the computer, watching the screen for god knows how long, and checked all the documents thrice. The documents that you must need for the final exam form are :

  • Mark sheet of CA Foundation exam.
  • Mark sheet of CA Intermediate exam.
  • Recent passport-size photograph and specimen signature.
  • Document certifying reserved student category (SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled).
  • Certificate of Nationality.

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and finally pressed the submit button after making the payment. Now, all I had was 2-3 months before giving the final exam that would decide my future.Trust me when I say it's not easy, but it's not impossible either. I learned a lot of new things in my journey that I would love to share with you guys! First of all, one needs a proper study plan to prepare for the final exam. That can be anything in a way that covers all the topics with revision. I will tell you how I did it:

  1. When I covered all of the topics throughout my preparation, I made notes of all the important points and problems from previous questions papers and different books. Note making is very important.
  2. Going through notes every time you start the study.
  3. Collect your admit card as soon as it comes before, 2-3 weeks before the exam. You need to keep watching the date and stay updated.

There came many moments when I hated study for CA. It was taking a huge toll on me actually, sometimes I even thought of quitting. One time after getting so frustrated, I actually did quit for a couple of months but then I remember my father used to say that "You shouldn't be a quitter, be a fighter". So here I was, gave my everything to make this dream come true.

After almost 2 months, I was patiently waiting for my admit card, but that didn't come. It had me getting so tensed up, but my parents calmed me down. When I checked it, there turned out to be some error showing up; I'm not gonna lie; I was going to cry. Three years is not a short span of time, specifically the time you are supposed to work hard to achieve your career goals. I was not going to let those years and hard work go to waste just because of some error. I checked the documents and proceeded with them again. I even tried to get some help from my college professor. At last, it showed that my admit card would be available in a couple of days. I let out a huge breath of relief.

Finally it was the day of the exam. Of course I was terrified. As I entered the examination hall, I memorised a few points that i needed to keep in mind for the exam and also to share with you all.

  1. When you get the question paper, DO NOT READ it from the front; always start from backward; the back questions are usually shorter and easier than the front ones. And also we wouldn't want to stress us out.
  2. Manage the time well, do not spend more than necessary time on a single problem, leave it and attend the rest of the exam.
  3. Do not leave presentation, there's always a teacher who considers presentation as well in the exam while checking, underline the important words and highlight the headings. Make formats carefully and properly.
  4. Focus on quality over quantity, this is not a high school exam, teacher will carefully check the material and even if it is short but the quality must be best. Write one question in two to three points not more than that.

After completing the exam, check again for the mistakes and corrections if you have time, which students are usually unable to get.

The wait for the result after the exam is not less painful either. You will get anxious and restless. I remember myself not eating for 2 days in the stress of the awaiting result. Afterall my whole future was going to depend upon that mark sheet. 3 years of hardwork, exhaustion, sleepless nights was either going to pay off or I was going to be the biggest disappointment for myself and my parents.

That was 3 years ago, March 2022.

And today is May 2025.

I made it!! I became what I had dreamed of achieving! I became a Chartered Accountant!

I cannot describe in words the amount of immense happiness I felt that day. Two people were the happiest persons that day, My parents! I made them proud; I couldn't ask for more.

I learned one thing that day. That we can get anything we dream of, if we give our best with hard work and dedication.
